East Ardsley under 9 boys football team won the Morley schools comp at Gildersome!!
East Ardsley beat Drighlington 1-0 in the Final, after beating Morley Victoria 1-0 after extra time in the semi

East Ardsley hosted the Woodkirk family WUSU competition, we had entries from all teams in KS1 and KS2.
It was important that all teams stuck to the criteria set out in the WUSU rules!! All the teams put on a great show and Claire Byers, PE teacher at Woodkirk had a hard job of judging the event.
The results were as follows:

This year we held our festival at East Ardsley Cricket Club and the weather was certainly cricket weather. a Dan from East Ardsley organised the festival which proved a huge success.
All pupils really enjoyed the evening and all went home with a certificate.
The Final standings were:
Westerton (green) – 6 points
Blackgates (black) – 2 pts
EA (white) – 2pts
Hill Top (red) – 2pts
The winners were Westerton who will represent the family at the Leeds Competition, so well done to them!

Tingley Athletic Football Club kindly hosted the girls football festival for the year 3/4 pupils from the Woodkirk Family.
The tournament was great to see, with lots of parents/family/teachers all in support of the girls. Also we had two girls from Woodkirk High School who also play for Tingley Athletic who did an excellent job as referees. Kellie Hawkridge and Lucy Chapman.
There was some excellent talent amoungst the schools, Amy Hawes for East Ardsley had a super tournament, she scored 9 goals in 5 games which is a fantastic acheivement in some very close games!
The final was against East Ardsley pink team and Blackgates, after a very good game, East Ardsley took the cup and won 3-0!
Well done to all the girls and thanks to Tingley Athletic who organised the evening. Any girls looking to join a football club, please get in touch.

Woodkirk family held their year 2 multi skill festival, it was a great success and the girls and boys from all the schools had a great time.
The sports Leaders at Woodkirk were excellent and lead the youngster round a series of multi skill challenges.
There were lots of certificates to give out at the end and the festival concluded with a tounament of bench ball which took some getting used to but eventually the year 2 pupils were masters of the game.
Well done to all schools for attending.

24 year 1 boys from the Woodkirk Family came to Woodkirk last night to take part in the annual football festival.
The evening started off with lots of fun skills including dribbling, heading, volleying etc, and then all the pupils took part in a friendly tournament.
Westerton were the champions of one competition and the boys from East ardsley were the champions of the 2nd competition.
Well done to all the schools, it was a well attended festival with lots of keen spectators that made the evening fun for all.

The Leeds South Sports Partnership “Key Step” gymnastics event took place at Bruntcliffe on 1st March.
The event couldn’t have taken place without the generous help of many volunteers and specialist gymnastics judges who gave up their time to help.
In the Year 1 and 2 competition Blackgates team 1 won the event with Blackgates (2) and Drighlington (1) coming in second and third respectively.
The Year 3 and 4 Foundation event was decided by a close winning margin. The winning team had 104 points whilst 2nd place had 102 points. The winning team was Blackgates (4) and Rothwell Victoria came second, Drighlington (6) came third.
Sophie Hobbah of Drighlington won the Year 3 and 4 Advanced competition. In second was Ella Runton and third was Noah Cage. All three were from Drighlington (7).
In the Foundation event for the year 5 and 6 competitors was just as close as the earlier years, with less than 2 points separating winners Blackgates (6) from second place Rothwell Victoria. Drighlington (8) had to settle for third.
Sophie Pearce won the year 5 and 6 advanced, with Anna Crossland finishing in second. Both Girls were from Drighlington (10)

The 2009 Leeds South Sports Partnership under-14 and under-16 table tennis was held at Bruntcliffe School on December 3rd.
4 teams battled it out for the under-14 title, Cockburn’s “A” team emerged as winners, having been undefeated. Morley came a close second, followed by Cockburn “B” and Rodillian.
The under-16 competition had 6 teams. This time Morley did one better and won, without losing a game. Woodkirk came second, losing only once (to Morley), South Leeds Academy were third. Cockburn, Rodillian and Bruntcliffe completed the running.

Woodkirk, along with 21 other schools competed in lots of different army events including aerial rope swing, obstacle course, mountaining biking etc.
The day was very high sprited and all the pupils had an excellent day.
